Study Help for the NC Computer Skills Test

The NC Computer Skills Test will be given as an online test. Chaloner 8th graders are scheduled to take the test beginning Monday, October 29th through November 9th.  The online test consists of 72 questions requiring students to have knowledge of vocabulary, ethical issues, word processing, database management, spreadsheets and graphs, multimedia and telecommunication skills. This test is sent to us via the NC Department of Public Instruction and passing this test is a requirement for graduation from any public North Carolina High School.

If an 8th grader does not pass the test this fall, they will be given some extra instruction and offered another chance to take the test in the spring of 2008 before leaving 8th grade. If after that they have not passed the test, they will be offered at least one opportunity per year to test at the high school.
